Are you ready to rumble with a razor-toothed sea monster? Rhode Island waters offer anglers an exciting opportunity to engage with a variety of shark species, including Shortfin Mako*, Thresher, and Blue Sharks, and we never know what other species might be drawn in by the chum.

Before heading offshore, your adventure begins by catching Bluefish to use as bait. Once we reach the fishing grounds, we set out various baits and start chumming the water. For anglers with the patience to wait for a bite, shark fishing promises a thrilling and unforgettable adventure. As we drift along, periodically tossing chum, we wait for a hungry shark to follow the scent trail to the boat. Then, suddenly—BANG! The balloon bobber on the line vanishes underwater, and you're on.

Among the sharks you may encounter, Mako are known for their incredible acrobatics. These powerful pelagic predators are not only fast swimmers but also spectacular jumpers. When hooked, Makos often leap high out of the water, performing twists and flips in a stunning display of strength and agility. Their aerial acrobatics add an extra layer of excitement and challenge to the fight, making this trip a truly exhilarating experience.

Locked in a battle of will and determination with a pelagic warrior, a shark fight can last for an hour or more. You'll work to bring the shark in for an up-close look at this majestic creature before either releasing it unharmed or boating it for several coolers full of delicious meat to feed yourself, your friends, and your family.
